The use of multimetals in repair work

To have quick and effective repair in all industrial sectors where it’s needed to pack, to glue, to fit, to fill and to revet - two-component materials are used. They are possible to be applied in those places (explosive and nonfireproof) where welding is impossible to be used besides during a repair of systems that are of low-pressure.

Their main features are high mechanical resistance and chemical durability. They are not prone to shrinkage and cracking due to the fact that the process of solidification is being held cold. They’re put in a layer of free thickness, and during the process of glass tissue reinforcement they assure extremely solid joints.

The completely hardened multimetal is processed by any tool (a file, a drill, a cutter etc.) in the way similar to originally used metal is done.

The advantages of chemical cold weld using multimetals:

  1. economy and quickness – the repair is made in several minutes. The components A and B are blended in approximate ratios [1:1]
  2. multimetals perfectly fits any other material: steel, cast iron, copper, brass, aluminum, bronze, concrete, glass, wood etc.
  3.  the stiff consistency doesn’t leak, it is suitable for overhead work. It can be shaped and processed in gloved hands.

The method of application

To ensure the solid adhesion it’s needed to clean, degrease and dry the surface under repair. The components in appropriate ratios are blended thoroughly.

A thin layer of consistency is thoroughly rubbed in the surface under repair. The rest of the mixture is spread over the work surfaces in a free thickness layer, which after glass fiber reinforcement makes super solid joining, similarly to welding. In the places where adhesion is not required the diamant-separator is applied.

After blending the components, the mixture “standard” and “liquid” should be applied in 60 minutes; “rapid” – in 2-3 minutes accordingly.

  • Repair, packing, renovation, reconstruction of oil pipelines, flow cast iron, steel and plastic lines; new lines joints of any materials.
  • Repair and maintenance in navigation, foundry modeling, machine building, different facilities, transportation equipment, automobile industry, motor production, overhaul factories, electrical and chemical industries, construction, ground and underground building, sewerage construction, agricultural machine building, handicraft and household.
  • Filling and packing cracks, breakdowns, holes and bad loops of engine basic blocks, pumps, slide valves, turbines etc.
  • Reconstruction and repair of parts and worn out screws.
  • Corrosion and cavitation damage repair.
  • Filling and packing cracks and flaws of containers, tanks, silo vats, bathtubs, heat exchangers, oil filters etc., the additional fiber glass reinforcement makes super solid joinings.
  • Multimetals are irreplaceable in case when ordinary welding is impossible because of a fire and explosion risk, when down time is limited,  when the system under repair is of not high pressure.
  • Multimetals are acceptable for inside surfacing of any products, for anti-corrosive protection and gluing of containers, bathtubs, tanks etc.
  • Joining iron products with each other and with other materials.
  • Closing up any materials in concrete, stone, wall.
