Department of Special Types of Work

Specialists of the department carry out a range of works including inspection, repair, reconstruction, modernization, and adjustment of main intraturbine steam pipelines, steam extractions from cylinders, steam extraction from seals, feed pipelines, and their elements of support and suspension systems (SPS).

The scope of services includes strength calculation and self-compensation of pipelines with the provision of conclusions according to RD 10-249-98 (ASTRA-STAT-11). In accordance with the technologies for conducting repair work on the supports of turbogenerators of all types and the guiding document RD 34.30.506-90 “Methodological instructions for normalizing thermal expansions of steam turbine cylinders of thermal power plants,” it is mandatory to perform a comprehensive set of works on the support and suspension systems (SPS) of turbogenerator steam pipelines.

MAIN TYPES OF WORK:

Inspection of steam pipelines and support-suspension systems to clarify routing, absence of deflections and pinches, as well as compliance with the design;
Verification of compliance with the design of installed springs, their location and construction, adjustment of spring hangers springs considering allowable and design loads;
Determination of the load on the support-suspension systems (SPS) of steam pipelines (pipelines);
During the replacement or dismantling works in repairs of high and medium pressure steam turbine cylinders (HPT and IPT), technical measures are developed and implemented for connecting pipelines to the external HPT and IPT turbine with subsequent execution of cold “tensions” and adjustment of loads on the hangers;
Multistage adjustment of the SPS of steam pipelines connected to the HPT and IPT aimed at normalization and equalization of loads on the HPT and IPT feet;
Preparation and issuance of tightening forms for springs of spring hangers of steam pipelines SPS, GPP, HPP, PV, bypass steam pipelines of HPT, extractions, etc., as well as preparation of inspection reports.
